Beyond the Basics: The 4-week Creative Toolkit

Adult Community Ed / Creative Expression -
Adult Community Ed Spring 26

This intermediate photography course is designed for photographers who already understand the basics and are ready to refine their creative voice and technical control. Over four intensive sessions, students will explore advanced exposure techniques for challenging lighting, learn how to use off-camera flash to create depth and drama, and practice directing professional-quality portraits during a live model shoot. The course emphasizes both artistic vision and practical skills, guiding participants through real-world shooting scenarios while introducing tools such as exposure bracketing, dynamic range control, and lighting modifiers. The program culminates in a final project where students present a small photo series and participate in a professional-style peer critique, helping them identify their emerging style and plan their next steps as photographers.
