Magik Theatre: The Very Beautiful Butterfly

Youth & Teen Community Ed Summer 2026

Drawing inspiration from Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar, campers will use movement and storytelling to learn about growth and the life cycle of a beautiful butterfly!

Learning Outcomes:

  • Storytelling Through Movement
    • Practice expressing ideas and emotions using movement, body language, and gestures.
  • Life Science Skills
    • Understand the life cycle of a butterfly, and use nature as an inspiration for creative storytelling.
    • Observation and Imagination
  • Fine Motor Skills
    • Strength cutting, gluing, and decorating skills through hand-on crafting activities. Learn to repair any broken elements reinforcing the importance of repair over replacing.
  • Creative Play and Imagination
    • Campers will use their imaginations to invent stories, characters, and scenarios that allow them to express their ideas and personalities. With a mix of guided activities and open play, campers will practice thinking creatively, collaborating on storytelling, and bringing imaginative worlds to life.                

          

           

Withdrawals/Refunds:

“If you are unable to attend the course session, we are happy to refund tuition, less a 5% processing fee, when you cancel your course session a week before the course starts. The deadline to request a refund is 5:00 pm on the Tuesday prior to the course week. “
