Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Adult Community Ed / Health & Wellness -
Adult Community Ed Spring 2024

This course teaches the skills necessary to help save a life by recognizing cardiac arrest, calling 911, and providing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) along with hands-only CPR until EMS arrives. Students also learn the simple steps of using an AED (automated external defibrillator). The course is designed for those with little or no medical training. It covers recognizing problems, calling for appropriate help, and treating common first-aid emergencies until EMS arrives.

The instructor is an AHA-certified teacher who is an experienced RN who has been taking CPR classes for 40 years. She has seen the best practices evolve over time into these effective and useful methods that can save lives. The course is taught in person, employs useful videos, is consistent in its content, easy to understand, and reinforces the procedures taught with lots of student practice.

Upon completion of the coursework, students will receive AHA Heartsaver, First Aid, CPR, and AED certification lasting for 2 years.
