    By the end of this 8-week course students will have expanded on their basic Chinese knowledge. They will learn vocabulary and phrases that are especially useful for travel in China. They will also learn about contemporary Chinese culture. We will also learn useful words and grammar for everyday life. Speaking and listening comprehension skills will be emphasized during class time, however students will begin to learn how to read and write Chinese characters through optional homework assignments. We will also have an optional “9th class” at a local Chinese restaurant. -Week 1: Famous Places in China -Week 2: Trip to Beijing -Week 3: Money and Bargaining in China -Week 4: Planes, trains and automobiles -Week 5: Chinese tea ceremony -Week 6: Chinese dramas -Week 7: Going to the KTV -Week 8: Chinese Cuisine Mary Field has been teaching Chinese in Texas since 2015. She founded the Chinese immersion program at the International School of San Antonio. She lived in Mainland China for seven years and studied legal Chinese at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing.
